I think this would be just about perfect if end-user could add more rows to
the matrix they are building. Something like this just doesn't seem right
to have a pre-defined number of rows. Some way we could have a
'add more' link or button...

Hi, any idea about the timing for this feature?

I am not a very experienced php/Drupal programmer but learning. I am programming for 20 years in other languages, so I know about coding logic. Perhaps during the next months I might be able to help coding/testing. I need the 2 ToDo list features for one of my projects.

Today I tried out the Fieldgroup Table and Table Manager modules, but none of them really solve my issue. They are a too big work-around actually for what I want to do. I will stick with the Matrix Field module anyway.

this feature will probably be implemented for drupal-6, because with ahah support in core it will be much easier.

See http://drupal.org/node/282318

In Drupal 6 I plan to implement this using an AHAH form.

There is a work around for adding more rows or columns (if you an administrator).
Reedit the content type, add more headings and reedit the content.
This could be documented in the README file.
