Creating a simple newsticker, impossible?

I have searched for it alot -- here is a comparison:

views ticker has great views integration, with default blocks for horizontal and vertical scrolling. Only issue is that it can't pause on hover yet.

newsticker is the only one which allows to Pause on hover (but - the module is new - it didn't work when I tried it). It has many effects, but you must manually enter each link (no views integration).

The scrolltext module does a relatively good job - you can selects the node types you wish to scroll, but no views integration.

The taxonomy ticker is also worth mentioning (I haven't checked it).

Another solution is to directly use the marquee tag, using a php snippet.
