Highlight effect works only if background was set in CSS

Issue Summary

I like such JS gimmicks!

I thought it might be interesting to know and maybe some information should be added to the description on the module page.

I changed my theme. Before messagefx was working well, but then the highlight effect stopped working. This was because i had not defined the messages class in CSS yet. The messages background style must be defined or it doesn't work.
