During install I got an error message which after searching > for it> brought me to the follow post http://drupal.org/node/135776 . In > that post> it looks like it has already been solved although I still received > that> error while downloading the version that is put under the module > section.

hunmonk commentedPlease paste the exact error message you get on your install -- there is no call to a ts() function in userprotect.
Are you using the right version of userprotect? make sure the major versions of both the module and drupal core match.
