So I have been messing around with my presets and noticed that HTML5 works on all the major browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, and mobile devices). If this is the case, can anybody tell my why I should pay extra money to have my videos also transcoded into Flash? Thanks for the help!

Jorrit commentedI have no idea. The video module has a long history, that's the only reason I can imagine.

bkat commentedThere is no single codec that works on all browsers. I use HTML5 but I provide an mp4/h264, webm/vp8, and a mov version (for old iphones/ipod that can't play the regular mp4 version)

Jorrit commentedMP4 should be sufficient. In browsers that do not support it natively, Flash can be used to display it. Even Mozilla is considering adding support for MP4 (H.264) if the operating system supports it.
