I’m about to launch a smartphone accessories ecommerce site built on Ubercart. Most of the products I will be selling on the site are Apple-related, i.e., cases, screen protectors, styluses, etc. How do you think the site should look like given that I’m targeting mostly Apple users? My opinion is that Apple users have fairly sophisticated tastes so I should design the site such that it will follow suit. Based on the brief description that I have given, what colors and typefaces should be incorporated into the site? Should I make the site look like Apple’s site so that the consumers can easily identify with my site? If you can get back to me I’d appreciate it.

First; I would seek advice somewhere else on a different forum or maybe linkedin group. Although knowing your target user and buyer is important. I would make it cutting edge and really stand out in a very clean way.

Hmm I'd say those users look for what's cool at the moment and not about sophistication. That's all I get from the people that I know that bought an iPhone, iPod. The two people that I know who own an iPad know nothing about computers past searching google and accessing their email.
