I have the similar issue like http://drupal.org/node/1452176 but I made this issue separated, due that could be different causes, and I do not want to divide the specific case of the other issue.

I have modules: Access content, Publish content, permission fields. If is useful: I have solved, for now, rebuilding permissions, and enabling "View any unpublished content" permission for the specific role. (but will be useful know the cause of why "Content type" permission is not working, and try to fix that).

I'm a little unclear on what you're asking -- have you tried rebuilding permissions after setting your view unpublished permission?
