Creating a gallery with in node using image fields and CCK

Hello Everyone,
I hope someone can help me here.
I am currently using CCK and Image cache, Imagefield and thickbox. The plan is to create a node which is a review with images at the bottom of the post which when clicked then bumps up into a nice little thickbox slideshow.
I was wondering if somebody could advise me on how I could create gallery at the bottom of a node (say a group 4 x 4 of thumbnails). Currently when I create group of imagefields. They all appear on top of each other at the bottom of the post.
I have searched on the site for a while but not really found a simple solution

There is a great article http://drupal.org/node/144725 HOW TO: Create an image gallery using CCK and Views (not Image Module) but this creates a simple single gallery which will start to become alot of hassle if I start creating multiple versions of them. The idea is to make my life easier for me so when I post it would be simply uploading say 6 images into the post and then that would be it.

I did look into using Gallery2 but this then meant I would have to theme the gallery to match my site. Which to be honest turned me right off doing that. Simple View is not as suitable to me either so I have counted that out aswell.
