Is there a way to have more then one root forum? I would like this to more or less have them act like containers. Thanks for the help.

daniel.hunt commentedUnfortunately you can only have 1 root forum in UIEForum.
This issue of "containers" has come up before, and I'm having trouble deciphering exactly what the problem is - a container is essentially a forum that you cannot post in. One that contains other forums that you can post in.

sync1b commentedWell I am looking to organize forums like the default forum module does. With a lot of forums I think it looks 100x better to have them under some kind categorization. I thought the solution to this would be to have more then one root forum, maybe not. As I write this I am realizing it is more of a feature request than a support issue, but I see that the request has already been made. So thanks for the response.

sync1b commentedI wanted to follow up to be little clearer as UIE already does what I described. I would like UIE to show the heirarchy of forums and containers on the root forum page. This way you dont have to dig through different levels of forums to get to the one you want.
Thanks Bill

daniel.hunt commentedThis has been (largely) resolved by this issue, so I'm closing this now.

devbox commentedHi, I see the patch issue and the fact that you included it into the last release.
I downloaded the release of the 2007-Jul-30, I replaced the old code but I still have just one root forum (a forum that already exists) :(
There is something I don't undertand or the patch is not present in that release?
Thanks!

devbox commentedMmm... I see the forums grouped setting the option "Display the first level of sub-forums...", but no root forum (forums with ParentForum = NULL) can be added :(

Melereg commentedUse the first level of forums as root forums/containers. Then it should work just fine.
