Can you integrate OG Calendar with Date-field, so that you can take other contenttypes than "event"

Reviewing my installed modules by going to mysite.com/admin/build/modules, I see that my newly-installed but not-yet-enabled OG Calendar "Depends on" OG (which I have enabled) and Event (which I didn't install since I'm going to go with Dates + CCK + Calendar). My screen at mysite.com/admin/build/modules informs me in bright red letters that "Event" is "missing". Because of the missing Event module, I can't enable OG Calendar.

I apologize for not understanding what you wrote, but is this what you meant in your "Description" above - that you need OG Calendar to work with Dates (instead of with Event)?

If you meant something else, then I'll open another issue. If you meant the same thing I wrote, then I'm happy to see someone else with a similar need had already identified it as such.

OG Calendar is an add-on to the Event module.
