this appears to be, imho, one of the single most promising distributions for getting drupal out there in serious volume.

my main question relates to extending with other drupal modules across the drupal.org community. i've been having trouble locating documentation that covers known "problematic" modules (those that do not play well with OP or somehow break theme or main functions) as well as any known list of modules that play particularly well with OP (to extend with assorted feature sets)

has anybody done any sort of documentation in this area - formally or informally?

Not that I'm aware of. We'll definitely keep this issue open though, so if there is anything reported, we can list it here.
