Incorporating comments page/process problem

Page "Incorporating comments" http://drupal.org/node/135589 contains an instruction which, to that process, is rather crucial, yet flawed: how to find pages that have comments that are candidates for incorporation.

Step 1 says: "Use the Documentation Management page to find a list of documentation pages that have comments" which points to http://drupal.org/documentation/manage?comment_count[value]=1.

While this does indeed filter the Doc status/mgt list for comments>1, the list is sorted in reverse chron order of recent content edit. Pages with recent comments but no recent content edits will not appear anywhere near the top (as we established in doc office hours recently), but likely hundreds or thousands of rows later (per when the article was created or edited perhaps long ago).

This list actually emphasizes pages that have recently received attention to their content, rather than ones that have recent comments but have not had recent content attention.

So at the least, the process described on this page is missing the opportunity to encourage contributor attention to recent comments, where there's a spark of current interest to make improvement.

A mechanism that would be useful to this process is the proposed "d.o Doc Comments management view page" http://drupal.org/node/1470962 or a variant thereof. I will add a comment to that issue to the effect that this already-conceived comments-incorporation process is dependent upon it.

If/when a Doc comments management page is available, that can be worked into the instructions for comment incorporation.

(Of course, maybe there are other ideas on how to improve the comments incorporation process too.)
