I need Drumm's Recommended Nodes module for a site I'm setting up, it hasn't been upgraded yet from 4.7 to 5.1, and isn't scheduled to be upgraded in the near future. I'm not a programmer and haven't been able to do the upgrade myself. I got lost trying to follow the upgrade directions.
(This is not the same module as the CRE (Content Recommendation) module and doesn't do the same thing, by the way. Drumm's module allows members to hit a button in the sidebar and directly recommend posts as "the best on the site and recommended reading." It also calculates when a recommendation was made, and then reduces the value of the recommendation over time based on an admin-set initial point value.
In other words, a recommendation might have an initial value of 10 points. After four hours, that recommendation is reduced down to 8 points. After eight hours, it goes down to half its value, and after 36 hours zeroes out. This means that unless new votes keep coming in for that post being "recommended," it will after a few hours move down and off the list of recommended posts. Dynamic and neat.)
In another thread I posted last week, a member here posted that he was trying to upgrade the module and had it partially working except for an call_user_func_array error that he was trying to figure out. I'm not sure how hard it is to upgrade a module with that kind of error, but I'd appreciate some information on what it would take to upgrade the module.
I've also been told that there is a problem with the Contact Form on Drupal.org and that messages to or from people often are not getting through. If that is true, please contact me with estimates, questions or other info directly at my gmail account which has the same before-the-at-sign name as my drupal groups account on this message. Thanks.
