Google encourages its affiliate Web sites to display Adsense blocks up to three times on the same page. Say, once in the left margin, once on the right, and one across the top.
While I can get Adsense going just fine in a single block (in my case on the left; though I've experimented and right's OK, too) when I implement a second block, that one turns up blank.
Not empty (ie collapsed, devoid of content) but expanded to the dimensions of the ad strip my code defines, but simply lacking content.
It's pertinent, because having a second strip on a page, particularly with different color combos, really does boost your revenue success.
My site is Science Blog (http://www.scienceblog.com)

Sorry, should have added...
This occurs not on the homepage, where everything displays as it should, but inside on node pages. Again, the block shows up, just empty.
I have the same thing happening
but I am not sure it has to do with Drupal but with Adsense, because for me, the second block of ads sometimes appears but sometimes it shows the blank space.
It is adsense not drupal
Hi,
It has nothing to do with drupal. If google doesn't find ad's for the second unit, it will not display anything.
You can try implementing Collapsing ad units. The details are at

You're right
Thanks a million. Because of the theme I use, I opted instead for the alternate HTML page approach, but you're absolutely right. Thanks to both of you for the help.
