Recomendations for drupal friendly VPS host
adventurekim - May 30, 2007 - 17:27
I'm looking into setting up my first drupal site and am looking for some recomendations on VPS hosts that are drupal friendly. Ultimately, my site will have a lot of pics and video and commenting so i thought it would be best to go with a VPS if i can afford it. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a relatively cheap but reliable VPS host?

SliceHost
Hi Adventurekim,
I just signed up for slicehost and so far I've had a great experience. I haven't taken a site live with them yet, but for development it's been a breeze. The slices are very fast, both in terms of processing and bandwidth (~12 megabits per second).
As far as VPS go they have excellent prices, although you might have to prepay for 6 or 12 months if you don't want to be stuck on their waiting list for a long time.
Check them out:

Oh and if you DO decide to sign up, let me know so I can PM you my email address for a referral credit :)
Cheers,
Nick
Slicehost looks nice
I've been somewhat researching a VPS solution. I'm probably 6 months to a year off from being able to switch off shared hosting, but I'm collecting potential companies as bookmarks. This Slicehost is one of the best I've seen and at $20 / month I could almost afford it sooner. The downside is it's not managed, so it would take more learning on my part. But it's something to consider.
If you want to send me an email (contact tab is on) with the subject "slicehost" and your email, I'll have it in my email software if I end up going with them and can give you the referral credit.
Thanks,
Michelle
