Could you enhance the project page a bit to talk about why you might want to use the Data module rather than simply import all of the content in as nodes?

I'm wondering if I've gone wrong by inserting my feeds in as Nodes rather than using a data table, but not sure. The overhead of node would be lost, but baggage isn't all bad.

That's a good idea, but I'm a bit short myself on good reasons -- my own use case for using Data is rather specialized.

Perhaps other people would like to suggest ideas here and when we have a few I'll update the project page.
