I realize the "normalize author names" doesn't always work as desired, but I noticed the following and thought I'd mention it in case it wasn't known:

for an author entered as "van Gunsteren, W.F.", the filter by author link for the name works properly if "normalize" is off (/biblio/author/van+Gunsteren) but is broken if normalize is on (/biblio/author/van++Gunsteren)

It does indeed look like a bug, looks like an extra space is creeping in there.

I'll check on that.
