I'm looking for something that makes a cck image field and adds a web file browse button under it. so i can add files that is already on the server to the the cck field. Does this exist?

It would work something like IMCE and a cck image file combined. does a module that does this exist?

Image assist....

But it works with image module which is a different, parallel and older approach. Also imce does something similar.

Hmmmm, yeah, I can see what you mean. Once there's a CCK asset field type, it should definately be able to do what I've been trying to do with the image-field.

I love this module and now rely on it far more than I should for beta functionality. Any chance this is going to make it to a supported module/cck field.

http://drupal.org/project/imceimage for 6.x release.
The 5.x beta version is being used on a couple of production type sites so it should be relatively stable.
I am unable to support 5.x - as I took a very different design approach to the 6.x version and it will be difficult for me to support both for now.
