Not even close to an alpha release for 7.x yet.

It'd be good to leave it as a .dev release until it works in 7.x.

dhtml_menu works with the "Expand on Bullet" option set at admin/config/user-interface/dhtml_menu which all the one-trick pony I'm looking for.

A quiet minimalist in a bells and whistles world.

OK, give the 7.x-2.0-alpha2 version a go.
I have had a good fight with git this morning, and I think I've finally got it beat. Honestly I have no idea why it didn't work the first time. I managed to upload a damaged version (although I don't know where it came from), and then managed to download it and over-ride my good local version. So I had to revert to an older version, which is what 2.0-alpha2 is. But it is at least as stable as D6-3.3 as far as I can see.
Let me know if there are any other issues.
