What if the comments attached to a node will be processed by the Views module? There're lots of benefits including caching, sorting and ajax paging out of the box. With a bit of ajax/jquery magic any website developer can add some cool features like infinite comments, new comments loading on post submit etc. Yes, with threaded comments enabled there's a hell of work to do (from my point of view) but are there any other drawbacks considered as 'major' ones?

michelleThey are with Node Comments. Doing it with actual comments... eh... That's a lot for D6. Would need a new branch, I think, and someone with a lot of time. :)

I can play with it just for fun but my other commitments blah-bla-blah... you know :) I just cannot guarantee I'll complete the job in the foreseeable future.

michelleWell, that's what sandboxes are for. :) Play around and see if you get anything. If you do, we can always open 3.x once 2.0 is out.
