I would like to add the human-readable name of my content types in my nodes, but I can't find the right variable. Any clues?

If you haven't found the answer yet and still want to know (sorry it took so long for someone to answer your question), use the node_get_types("name", $node); function to get the human-readable name (instead of $node->type which shows the machine-readable name).
