hi
many times this process of backing up and also untarring is failing.
it would be nice if this module can be split into two
1. for database backup
2. for other files and drupal backup

this way..the size would be easier to handle and also we can store the two things independently in separate folders.

also this helps in many other ways....like downloading only dbase when necessary etc.

Hi,

One of the reasons I did *not* do this initially is because I didn't want to deal with scenarios where people were mistakenly backing up only their files or their database and having incomplete backups without knowing it. That would be really bad, because folks would have a false sense of security in that case.

However, I didn't expect as many issues with tar to arise.

If the issues persist after my next release of this module, I'll look into building something to do separate database/filesystem backups as per your suggestion.

please could you split up the module and put it up elsewhere atleast so that people like me can use it.

to avoid the problem, you can name it as..
backup database
and
backup other stuff

thanks..hope u will do something real soon..becoz i am getting jittery..due to not being able to backup now
