This isn't the best place to ask for support, sorry! (This is an issue queue for people working on improving the on-line Drupal documentation.) There are several support options listed if you click on "Support" at the top of Drupal.org, which will take you to:

There you can find out about the Drupal IRC channels, and the Forums, which are our two main support mechanisms in the Drupal community.

siliconmeadow commentedI think it might be because blog items are node items, and therefore you use node--type.tpl.php, where type = node.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
