I've tried disabling the content block on the front page, changing the path on the view and Context - can't figure out how to disable the content area on the front page. Any guidance much appreciated - thanks!

Can you please clarify your issue? This doesn't sound theme related. Perhaps you should verify what your default front page is set to on Configuration > System > Site Information > Default front page.

Yes - you're right - it's not a theme issue; this has to do with Open Enterprise insofar as I'm seeing it using other themes. Thank you for the quick response - my apologies - closing the issue.
