beta3 had a fatal error; current version will redirect to admin/content/file if you attempt to upload a file. It'd be ideal for this module to work with 1.x and 2.x branches of Media 7.x until media-7.x-2.x releases a stable.

I'll second that. Given that many of the other popular additional modules for media-7.x-2.x are not yet available (Vimeo) or are only available in alpha versions (Youtube), continued support for media-7.x-1.x is vital.
