I attempted to look this up in the general Ubercart discussions, but they don't apply to my specific case.
I'm trying to create a coupon that makes the product ship free. This must only apply to the specific product and not every product in the cart. So in essence, if the coupon is applied the product, a book for example, must not be counted in affecting the overall shipping of the items in the cart.
Is this possible?
Thank you,
Joe

wodenx commentedThe only way I can think of to accomplish this would be to create a new flatrate shipping method with a per-product rate of zero on the applicable product, and then add a rule which makes this method available only when the coupon is applied. But this will only work if you are using flatrate quotes for the rest of the order.

pkchoo commentedThanks for getting back to me.
So to make sure I understand, I can make a zero flat rate for a specific product so no shipping charges are applied to that item, but the rest of the cart must also have only flat rate shipping applied? We can't still use FedEx or USPS, etc...?

wodenx commentedI believe that's correct, yes - as far as I know, a customer can only choose one shipping method for each order. You could still offer the other methods as options, but the free shipping for the special product would only apply if the customer selected that flatrate method.
