The Red Cross is developing a brand-new website that will be put into place almost immediately after its creation, and is looking for a couple of people to work on this project. The website will involve collaborations with corporations for mission-critical work, especially during disasters.

If you're free for the month of June, this is the perfect opportunity for you to display your skills all across America. The project will last for only one month but near full-time commitment is required.

Several efforts self-organized to deliver communications infrastructure to the Katerina affected area. One area where we worked was delivering VoIP over wireless to some remaining wireline backhaul -- to RC camps. We had real problems working with the RC, and our approach -- distributed universal number discovery -- differed from the RC's, which used a centralized table.

I've spent some time thinking about how things don't work in FEMA/RC land, and how communications can be delivered where the wireline fabric has been lost.

Now I do do drupal sites, and just finished work yesterday in the Cherokee Nation for the candidate I hope will win, and you asked for an email contact. You can use this:
