Is there an autosave function available for the d7 tree as in d6?

I looked in the issue queue and found some references to it but cannot see anywhere to activate/set it.

set 'Click to edit' = No; Then, every time you change the value, the node is saved automatically.

Seems not to be working.

Please see attached screen shots. Click to Edit is not activated, yet a save button is shown. My field is a checkbox.

Did you apply #1206656: Error on Node view page: Argument 1 passed to drupal_array_get_nested_value(). This is necessary.
