Looking at the project page, current release is rc1. Looking at the git repo, there's also a later beta1 and also a 1.0 release (no rc, no beta).

A little clarification would be appreciated ;-)

I just released the long overdue 1.0. I took over maintainership, so expect another release in the upcoming days / weeks.
