Editing issues when converting to OG group type.

What I'm trying to accomplish with the nodetype module is to have the ability to convert a standard CCK node into an OG group. For the most part this works. I added all the fields the original node has into my group content type, and they all convert over properly, and a group is created. However, a description, the group subscription status, and show in group directory option are not filled out, and when I go to edit the group in order to input this information, the information doesn't save. Other information like the body and other fields will update, but the group related fields will not update. I would greatly appreciate any help that could be offered with this issue.
