By now "gallery field" option in gallery attribute of shadowbox formatter groups together all images from same field that appear in the current page you are viewing. Show if actually you are seeing various nodes (in a listing for example) images from same field but different nodes will be grouped together.

Seems correct to add a new "gallery field node" that restrict the grouping both to same field and same node.
