Hi, as a newbie, here's my question. After i set up Drupal on my shared host, i logged in as first user, enter "administration center", it showed my two setting error, "cron" and "files". So i click "files" to set up a new files for drupal, save it.

I didn't visit my site again after all this. But when i did, it showed me "404 error", what can this be? Is this caused by my configuration? Anyone knows why? Thanks.

Might be that you don't have the htaccess file in place? And perhaps its trying to load the default document index.html or similar? (Instead of the required index.php)

Try visiting

yourwebsitename.com/index.php

and see if that works?

yes, it's working now after i redirect my domain name to the root directory and upload a index.php there.

Although it's fixed, i haven't get why it crashed that way.

And now i'm getting trouble from making the clearURL work!!
