Is there a way to link to pdf files uploaded through Media in a wysiwyg editor (CK Editor installed)?

I've noticed some patches for Media 7.2.x to expose the media type. Are there any similar solutions for 7.1.0?

Media currently only supports images through WYSIWYG. A number of issues already document the problem and are attempting to fix it. Please review and test any existing patches such as the one at #1451316: Clean up wysiwyg-media.js.
