maybe some developers are using this module in other contexts and want to support it a little bit for D7 ...

Since Fancybox 1.x development was abandoned and Fancybox 2.x is free for use on personal or non-profit websites only I made the switch to theColorBox jQuery plugin & Colorbox module.
