It is unclear how to create status message at this time. Do you use Facebook Micro-publisher or is there a built in status update feature I am not aware of?

You can check the documentation available here. This is wrote for D6 3.x branch, however this is a direct port form D6 3.x branch, so same will be applicable for D7 1.x branch.

Are you telling me you actually tried to use this module and could not figure out how to enter a status update? Or are you saying you haven't used the module yet and you don't understand how it works?

Regardless, by default there are 3 places the status update form appears:

/statuses/share
The Statuses block
Default user profiles (if they haven't been overridden)

Just type in the box and press the Share button.
