Is it possible to remove the domain attribute from category tag altogether?

One of our clients needs to have RSS feeds which are working fine in standard RSS readers. But for a single partner project we need to alter the RSS feed to not include the domain attribute as it seems to break a custom reader script (not in Drupal).
So I am wondering if this module could provide an option to remove the domain attribute.
