I am quite new to Drupal, and though I learnt a lot I am wondering how would be the easiest way to go. Any feedback is appreciated.

I would like to filter my site info based on a filter I defined called 'Countries'. Some of the site content is really of interest to a geographical location (classifieds, calendar etc.) so I would like my customers to pick their country from a dropdown, then this filter value would be applied all throughout the site, wherever they navigate. This is for registered users only.

This way a member from USA will see only classifieds, calendar events relating to USA, and not from other countries, unless he decides to change the "global" country filter to something else.

Which would be the besy way to realize such a function? Really appreciate your help.
