Anyone know how to set up Drupal 7 such that users have to pay for user-account registration? Aka, user form has usual uname/email/pw PLUS credit card fields to pay for registration.

I can't find anything for Drupal 7 in the ubercart or e-commerce contribs, or any standalone modules.

You can use Ubercart module to sell membership.
