As it is about limits, may I suggest extending it to have a maximum length per freetagging term?

Limit on a term length would be a nice addition to this very useful module. Sometimes I have had users place whole sentences in the term area by accident. I have also had users make lengthy statements on purpose. At this time I just go in and changed the tag manually and notify the user, but a limit on tag length would be a very helpful way of educating the user on proper tagging.

This is a very useful idea. Taxonomy limit MUST have this feature.

I'd like to add for version 6 as well. This would be soooooo helpful, I'm getting sentence length tags as well.

I agree that taxonomy limit would be a logical place to do this. I'll add it to my personal TODO list, but I'd also be happy to review patches if anyone wants to contribute one.
I've changed the version to 6.x because neither of the maintainers are currently planning to add new features to the 5.x branch.
