I've sent an email to my contact at Kernest, but I think maybe it's actually been down for a few months now, since this issue: #1344432: KERNEST no longer working?. When that happened, I emailed and was told they would let me know when it's back up. At the time I assumed it was temporary, but I never heard back and it now looks like they've completely changed the service from free to paid, so I'm now thinking it probably wouldn't come back at all. If I don't hear back before the next release, I'll remove the submodule, since it doesn't work at all right now.

I've removed Kernest from both D6 and D7 branches, as all signs suggest their API isn't coming back. Sad.
