For close to a year I had assumed people were lying when they insisted that dreditor had a line that showed which comments were wider than that 80 character limit.
Today when hurting my head on my desk (don't ask) I noticed a line. And verily after changing its background color from #f9f9fa to #eee via a CSS override in the page inspector, I could also see the line without injuring myself.
I would ask that you make the background on #dreditor #code-delimiter darker, so more people can actually see it. #eee seems reasonable to me. It stands out, yet keeps text under it legible.

helmo commentedI rarely notice that line... so yes #eee would make it more visible.
