Verification E-Mail Settings not working

I'm using this module with Drupal 6.25 and everything seems to be working fine except for the verification e-mail settings. My site user settings require that emails be verified, but I'm only using Engage providers that use verified emails so I do NOT want a verification email sent to users who log in with Janrain. Under the "Verification E-Mail" settings for Janrain, I have checked the "Bypass email verification for Engage registration" and have also tried modifying the body of the verification email on that page. Neither setting appears to have any effect. When a user logs in with Janrain, they are still sent a verification email (and it is not even the customized message I created on the Janrain settings page). Any ideas?
