I like this module but it seems it could relatively easily (despite being named "Node Expire") be extended to publish, un/sticky, un/promote, and delete content by basically duplicating what's been done for new fields representing the other events.

Is there perhaps a better module?

I'd actually take a shot at the code changes.

I think what you are describing can generally be done with the Rules module. Node Expire provides the "Content Expired" event and expiration fields for its particular use case. I think other events are provided by Rules and would be out of the scope of the node_expire module.

Please re-open and provide more information if I am missing something here.
