The last <br class="clear" /> seems to be wreaking a bit of havoc, it's quite unhelpfully clearing after the node so I get a nice big gap between the OP and the following comments. I tried fixing the problem on one of my other sites by removing it (which failed miserably) and then modifying it, which reslts in posts overlapping until you refresh or resize the browser.

I'm using a theme I made myself and am not sure what else to play with to make it to cooperate, so any hard blows to the head to point me in the right direction much appreciated.

Bit more experimenting and I've discovered that this only happens with very short forum posts, after the forum post box is at/past a certain height (haven't worked out how big that is yet) the problem goes away.

I think there should probably be a solution other than write long forum posts ;)
