I did try this before with Joomla but I did not succeed:

Now I am looking for ( low budget ) help with a fresh drupal installation
One international main site in Switzerland where also the data base is hosted
and two dutch sub sites in the Netherlands

I think I opt for the way described on:
http://drupal.org/node/131036

All these websites have to have CiviCRM

I did install Multiple domains and Single Sign-On modules and did make sub directories in the Sites-directory but I am sticked with what to install on the two sub sites, different settings php and this database thing.

I am kindly looking for someone who can make this go up and running
It is ma bey 2 hours of work for someone who knows what to do.
I pay regular hour tariff.

With the Multiple domains module, you don't need to do any PHP or database settings work. Just configure the settings at admin/settings/multidomain for the different domains you're using. They all run off of the same install and the same database (with no table prefixes needed).

This is an option, maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but probably worth trying.

Sorry, but I still don't get it.
I did spent many hours in forums and support pages.
I have one site with the drupal core and two other ""physical sites"".
What to upload to these two sites (I can't find index.php in /sites/example1/ and that is what I need I think for the other two sides)

Or do I have to install the whole drupal core on the other two sites as well, and is the multi sites module unsuited for this.
I need single login and all in one data base

As far as I know the multisite feature, and the multidomain module rely on all domains pointing to one physical site (they are all in the same hosting account). If the sites are on different servers it won't work.

Hello Marinus,

Is it correct you are Dutch? I think I can help you. I have some Dutch multiple sites working and I am developping a non profit site with CiviCRM. If you are Duch contact me: info at cmseasy pt nl. Maybe we can learn and help each other.

I am just wondering, If I don't have to upload files to the other servers, does multi site module work with IP forwarding ?

Dank je Martin voor je aanbod.
Ik kan alleen je website niet vinden ?

Hello Marinus,

You can't find cmseasy.nl because it's protected with 'secure site'. I am not commercial active on the web with Drupal and CiviCRM. Cmseasy.nl is my main domain for different subdomain's in development.

is it possible to have the new site (subdomain or whatever) pointing to a specific node?

i have mutlisite running fine, but the additional sites just point to the frontpage and i'd like to change that. looking thru settings.php and i dont see a conf_variable or anything else to where i can point it to somewhere else.

thanks.
