Strange things happen here.

When there is no content in the node body, the form is rendered twice into the page.
As soon as i enter something (e.g.  ) into the node body, the form appears only once.

Is this a feature or a bug?

I can't confirm this behavior, it does sound quite odd. Are you using a custom theme? I think that's the most likely area in which something like this could happen.
