Hey there! We're just finishing up a website redesign, and a few of us are working on a backlog of technical posts as we ride out our post-Drupalcon high (which, to be fair, is probably a combination of altitude, beer, and blue nail polish).

My Planet is cool and these look to be some good posts. All the requirements look to be met and a definite +1 to publishing this. There's some good discussions to be had on the posts Michael is making.

In case it helps plead the case, here are the projects that we'd like to start discussing on Drupal Planet. We're kinda blocked, as I'm holding back the gung-ho blog postings until we're in a position to get maximum feedback :)

Ariadne

A virtualized, high-performance Drupal development environment built with Vagrant using the Chef systems integration tool for all configuration (Varnish, Memcache, APC, debugging tools, etc.).

It's built from a small footprint of instructions on boot, as opposed to shipping a large fully-configured "golden image".) The idea is that the instructions will be able to be used to boot not just a local VM, but also a fully-configured cloud server. So far it's just the VM, but the idea is to use a tool like knife-solo to allow it to be deployed onto a fresh cloud server. The idea is that something like this might, among other perks, allow us to reproduce bugs in a much more effective manner, with just a few commands.

Inception

A Jenkins CI environment built based on the same principles as Ariadne -- just as easy to boot locally with vagrant (for evaluating), but can use the same instructions to spin up an actual instance.

2nd Level install profile

An install profile that can be used as an inheritable base install profile, which codifies some of the assumptions that will be made for allowing Inception to build sites easily.
