Doesn't appear to have an API yet, so will need to contact and request.

I think this is an excellent idea (I found it yesterday as well and thought it looked great). An api will be great to be able to utilize their library. But the other piece I see that will be difficult (and this is also on the end of OFL) is that the fonts are offered in limited formats. Some fonts provide sfd and ttf files, some provide only ttf, some provide only otf, etc. So using their fonts might limit its compatibility to a set number of browsers (so far, no IE since I did not see any woff or eot). I was just checking out their roadmap (http://openfontlibrary.org/wiki/Roadmap) and it is listed under milestone 5 (I am having a bit of difficulty figuring out where they are at in their roadmap) so figuring out where they are in their roadmap might be a good idea.

BTMash, I found OFL yesterday via your Twitter post. :) Guess I should have pointed you here then.

That's good to know they only have limited formats right now. I didn't realize that, and I'm not excited about including fonts that don't have all formats, since people might use those and not even realize the fonts aren't working in some browsers. Maybe a big warning could be okay for that, but hopefully they'll add the other formats soon. I should mark this as postponed until there's actually an API to use.

Late response from me on this but good to know you found it from me :)

I had a chance to look through their issue queue and how the milestones are laid out. And it seems like the earliest to expect the fonts to be available in all the various formats functionality would be in September (and that's not including the api proposal by you). So the postponed marking is for the best.

We should start adding new providers in D8.
