I've just installed Drupal 5.x. I was keenly disappointed that there is no WYSIWYG editor- but that's for another thread. I downloaded latest version of FCKEditor, making sure it was for 5.x. I meticulously followed all installation instructions, but it simply does not appear when I want to edit or create content.
I've trawled through these forums and it seems to be a common problem. I've checked and rechecked the directory structure, made sure all the permissions and checkboxes are ticked as per the installation instructions, and granted all the user rights. FCK Editor appears in the user access control, site configuration and module menus, so it's obviously been installed correctly. It just doesn't show up when I want to create content.
I'm not a geek, and cannot tell a stylesheet from a bedsheet. It may be that the solution has been explained in the other threads about this problem, but since I don't speak HTML, I couldn't understand all the technical jargon. How can I solve this problem, please?
