Hide the "join role" or the "leave role" pane if there are no roles to join or leave, respectively. In the simple case, where there is only one role that may be joined, then only one pane will ever be displayed at any one time. If there are multiple roles that they user may join, then both panes may still be displayed.

I am switching to the sudo module instead, as it fits my use-case better. Someone else will need to drive this to completion if it is desired; please feel free to close if not wanted. Setting to 'needs work', as a Drupal-7 port is still needed.
